I currently have a 100g tank that has a full grown oscar, an 8in Jag, 2 JDs and a largish pleco. They have been tank mates for about 4yrs with no problems outside of minor gesturing between the oscar and jag. I just purchased a 240gal tank as an upgrade and I'm wondering whether I have room to add another fish and if so, what would be the best idea. I'd LOVE another oscar, but I'm not sure I have room.

The new tank has a sump filtration system on it (something new to me, that I'm just learning about it) plus my fluvall effx5.

There's definitely room for one or 2 more big cichlids in a 240 plus another Oscar. You should look into some paraneetroplus types or maybe herichthys for some good community possibilities.

Also....after 4yrs I'd figure your jag should be a whole lot bigger than 8" :/ is it a female maybe??
