So I have a hydor 250 canister filter and i bought a hydor inline heater to go along with it. Online it says the filters tube size is 5/8 inches on the output so i bought a inline heater for 5/8in tube. Turns out the outside diameter is 5/8 inches on the tube and the inside is about 1/2 inches. So could i use extra tubing from the intake which is 5/8in interior and attach it to the smaller tube so i dont have to send the heater back?

sounds reasonable to me. this is on the return line correct? usually the only time going smaller is problematic is if you're restricting the intake to the pump.

Yea its on the return line i was just worried that increasing the size could cause water to sit in the heater for to long throwing off the temp.
