My Uraus have stopped eating almost completely. All parameters are fine but they will not accept anything I give them I went out and got some plants for them to munch on and now they won't even go for those. The female did lay eggs 2 days ago but now she is eating some of those from time to time. Can anyone give any good advise I ways thinking of trying earthworms today. Any help would be appreciated

Try bloodworms i have never had a fish that, even when sick or in bad water parameters, would pass up a bloodworm meal

I've tried that but they look at it and then go back to staying around the lower level of the tank. It has me confused, do they do this while spawning only I'm not sure

Is the female eating healthy, fertilized eggs? Once they fungus over, they are definitely free food, and this helps prevent the fungus from spreading.

eggs are a tan color and I thought they were fertile good question I have to double check when I get home from work I still dont know why they wont accept anything else

How big are your uaru's? I use raw spinach leaves attached with a veggie clip , position a couple around the tank so when they are hungry they'll eat..depending upon their previous diet they may be constipated...Bonus the raw spinach leaves don't foul the water as quickly as pellets or raw shrimp or dead earthworms..

I'd do a water change that always stimulates everyone’s appetite, watch your temp.....

They're about 7" each. I will try the spinach leaves. I do a water change at least once a week and I check parameters about twice a week. Temp is at 80f I really enjoy these guys I just cant figure out whats going on. They usually stay toward the lower level of the tank which I think is pretty normal for them. Any other comments would be great and thank you to those who help out I've come along way in this hobby thatnks to this site.

They get real moody at times most of the time mine spends his time in the back of the tank. Comes to the front when he sees me approaching with a worm,,LOL.. how big is your tank and how much water is changed?

I have the 2 in a 75 with a rena xp3 I need to look at the box to get the turn over rate. Mine are not in the back but they are always on the left side. I almost feel like putting more fish in because of all the extra room but I wont. They really watch everything I do it's kinda funny.
