Hi all,
I have not post for while, don't know where to post for goldfish. i'm running in trouble on Ranchu goldfish sit on bottom of the tank and gasping for air

  • Tank setup has been run more than 3 years with 2 Ranchu goldfishes
  • Recently, 1 of Ranchu has passed out and 1 left.
  • Brought 4 more baby 3" Ranchu and approx 10 months old
  • All 5 ranchu goldfishes living happy and eat ok on first 7days
- First 20% water changed after 4 days that i bought them home and they all were looking good and happy.
-2nd 20% water changed on day 7 after bought them home NO filter media clear or change. 2days after the 2nd 20% water changed, they either hang on mid water or bottom of tank and refuse swim around
-water tested and everything good, Nitrate and Nitrite and Ammonia
-They all eating when feed they, but after 1/2hr they ate, they hang or sink @ bottom of tank and refuse to swim around.
-Rock Salt and benefit bacteria have added and temp increase to 75F

-Ich attacked on their body on day 10. So, I added more Sea Salt and increase the temp to 82F.
-on day 12, fin rot on 3 ranchu and one with croudy eye. So, I tread all them in hosptial tank ich-X and 3 of them die on next day.
- Now, the main tank has 80% wate changed and 2 ranchu remain in. both are gasping for air and some while spot on bady.
_Should I treat with antibiotic, ick medication does't help.

Thanks all, all 5 ranchu goldfish dead today. 1 dead after i post this thead and 2 dead when i wake this morning and rest dead after i home from work.

Man, I'm very sorry to hear that. I wish I could have done more than move the thread, but I haven't kept Goldfish and since you indicated your parameters were okay, I didn't know what the issue could be. Plus, I was really unsure of how to treat Ich in a coldwater species. I've recently become interested in Ranchu, they're gorgeous fish. Again, I'm truly sorry you lost them.
