i currently have 2 ck's 1 is 22" and in my 8x8x2.5 indoor pond, my other one is 12" in my 90gal. the 12" Fossorochromis rostratus african cichlid (malawi sand diver) has decided to start beating on my ck, i am contemplating putting it into my pond with the other one. there are tons of hiding places and line of sight breaks. all my potted pond plants sitting on top of milk crates. the guy i got the 22" from had another similar sized ck in a 125 with it, but his fahka puffer killed the other one and beat this one up really bad so i got it.

anyone think that these two might co-exist in my 1200 gal indoor pond?

anyone have experience with 2 ck's in a footprint this big?

I have a 25 inch CK with 10 inch CK...no problem. Try it. Be watchfull.

As long as it has hiding places.

tons and tons of them with alot of room to run away if the need arises.

Should be allright, then...Anyway, better than having the smaller CK killed by the african fish...

kinda hard to see the clowns meeting..... pics of the pond are here http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=180859
only difference is that i have all my pond plants from outside in there now, so theres not really any open water, its all passageways around everything and caves and such. milk crates, dish racks stacked up, upside down bucket with a brick tied up inside and a doorway cut in the side all over the place. ill be taking more pics once i get all the leaves and other debris out of there.

dont dude my 2n half foot guy took out his 2 best freinds which i bought with him at same time at 4 inches long ea they just rnt suited to life with others of their own kind...

so should i separate my two ck's they're about 3-4" in?

I think it should be fine in a pond that size. But the older one may be territorial being by itself for so long. Just check on them as much as you can.
