One of my baby frontosa has been acting weird. i was looking him over this morning, and the lower portion of his body, right at his anal fin is bulging out severely, and about 1/8" about the bulge looks like a sore. im really worried about him, he was acting fine the other day, and just recently stopped eating, isn't very active, and is very stressed. i did notice long white stringy poop, he was eating when i first got him, not he has stopped, and again the bulge, which is really concerning me.

i really don't want to lose this front, i love them both, and i really want them to make it. Please help!

well he just started flashing as well, i will try to get a pic in the morning. he swims kinda stiff, but all fin movements are very similar to his healthy friend. just likes the float up to the top. thanks for the articles i'll read them, i might be able to sneak in a pic tonight.

ok i stole the camera for a few, the sore is about the 3rd bar in, i hope these are clear enough to see the sore and swell. the swelling is really red, just behind the third bar, and the sore is on the 3rd bar.

how woudl i go about putting the epsom salt in? i have never had to do it before.

i put some epsom salts in, and it seems all the bowel movements and wat not, the agression has spiked. and the other one will continue running the poor guy up in to the corner. i really can't separate as all my tanks are being used, or saltwater. are there any dithers i can introduce or other africans the would tame the aggression? it seams like after the epsom salts have been in the water for a while the injured/sick front has gotten more active, is this normal? along with him being active, so is the other front.

another issue i noticed, rapid breathing. could this have something to do with constipation?

rapid breathing can be becase he is stressed out... first I would reat up on bloat that could be what he has. Read up on that and see what you think. It's common in african chiclids so it's probably your culprit. Try to find information on it as well as treatments.

i was told on my other thread clout to cure the bloat, and then metronidezol after bloat is gone. now i just need to find clout, and metronidezol.
