for most of the day my green terror has been hangin out at the top right right of the tank looking down hardly moving i gave her a little poke to try to see if she is ok so she swam off away from my touch appearing to be ok.

since shes been doing this she is housed with a firemouth who is all of a sudden constantly attacking her well she has been tormenting him for the last while.

g.t has no sign of injury but my bigger concern is this a sign of illness ?

or a simple case turf war or pouting ?

g.t is now showing true nature had me worried when she was being attacked and not doing much about it am now in the process of watching an epic battle.

i though firemouths were peacefull ?

i know convicts appear to be fighting when mating rituals these to appear to be fighting without trying to hurt each other that or there just too juvenile to inflict damage both are 2'' and in a 20 gallon tank.

Swimming at the top of the tank like that when you have other aggressive fish in the tank points to the fish trying to avoid the aggression and being stressed. The stress can lead to illness. I would separate them, put up a divider if you don't have an extra tank. 2" CA cichlids are easily capable of killing each other BTW.

yep. And firemouths might not inflict alot of actual damage, but the gill flaring and harassment is constant stress on the GT.
