Hi all,

Last Tuesday i got 4 discus (1x 3 inche and 3x 2 inch). The small Discus are fine. But the large discus have cloudy eyes and 2 white dots on the mouth. What can I do? What is the problem?

Try big daily water changes... could be a gram negative bacterial infection, in which case I've had success with kanamycin. Try the water first and report back.

Along with wc's maybe add a little salt to the water. I use kosher salt from walmart. Some use regular table salt. Add 1-2tablespoons per 10gals of water. Remember you will need to adjust the salt when you do wc's. Salt will help with bacterial and fungal infections. If you decide to add salt dissolve it in a glass of water and slowly pour it in. Dont just dump it in there. I would try salt before any medications.

I would put the discus in a hospital/quarantine tank. If you dont have one get one. You need to always quarantine new fish!!!! ALWAYS! Now that you have discus dont ever add fish that have not been in qt. They will be the first to get sick imo. Your other fish should be fine but the corys will not tolerate it well.

Ok. I will give them a few days else i transfer them to a quarantine.

Thanks for the tip. I have a 27 litre is that good?

27 liters is 7.1 gallons? Is that correct? How big are the fish. they look to be 2-3inches? I have no idea if that is a good enough size. For hospital it should be ok. Pretty small

Well I think for a hospital its ok. The only thing is that I have to do WC's right?

Right now temp is 30.5*C
