I did a 40% water change yesterday afternoon and today my 5-6" Flowerhorn is acting really strange. He just sits on the sand on an angle not looking to healthy. I just tested my water and everything checks out. All my other fish in the tank seem fine and I just tried to feed them all, the flowerhorn swam up liking the idea of food but didn't eat anything and has gone back to he's spot on the sand doing the same thing.

Any suggestions on what I can do???

I haven't noticed any white poop as of yet. But my other fish don't seem themselves either, like I just fed them all before and the other fish just ate a couple of pellets and swam away they usaully go nuts at feeding time and eat a lot more, plus they all dont seem as active. Cant help but think something is not right in the tank!

If you dont do usual weekly water changes of 40% there probably just a little shocked.

Going into deeper depth, if you do 20% weekly and do a 40% it could shock them. Only thing I can think off honestly. Its just stress so leave the tank lights off and let them be for a day or two and they should be back to their normal self. If not then you have a serious problem.

The water put back in might have been contaminated with something. Its rare but it does happen (you can google countless threads). If you do do regular 40% water changes I would let the tap run for 15-30 mins to hopefully flush the system out and then give them a 40% water water change daily if they dont improve.

When in doubt water change. That's your best bet to save your fish.

I normally do weekly 40% water changes. I will give him a couple more hours and if I don't see any improvent than I will start to do daily water changes. Thanks for your advice.

flowerhorns are notorious for parasites . If your other fish are not acting normal either I would suggest looking into treating them with either paraguard or metro. Disease and health issues would be the best place for getting the best advice.
