Well about an hour ago i went to go feed my aro and found he was missing.:WHOA: I found him on a stack of papers and was kinda dry and wasnt breathing. I did fishy cpr on him and got him to breath.

But he cant swim. he tries but then stops and just floats to the bottom. As of now he is still breathing but i dont know if he will make it. I doubt anyone will ready this tonight since im in hawaii. I hope he can make it through the night. Any advice will be helpful. :nilly: :nilly:

Oh and i had him for about 3-4 months. i got him at the store when he was just off the sack. he was growing real nicely.

:( :(

best thing woudl be just to pick him up with ur hands gently and face him towards a powerhead. if not a powerhead some soruce of running water to let the new water to go through his gills so it coudl breath better. do this till it feels like hes regaining strength. hope it helps. good lucky bro

yeah we did that for about an hour but it didnt seem to work. He did gain a little strength back though. Right now he's sitting on the ground and his fins are moving a little but he's still not swimming. Its been about 2 hrs so far.

I just added some salt into the tank.

   it doesnt look like he will survive. Just checked on him again and looks like his breathing is slowing. not moving his fin anymore.

so depressing to watch him struggle. maybe he has brain damage from being out of the water too long? :(

best is if u somehow just place thepowerhead in front of him the whoel time. just keep it there to help his breathing. salt woudlnt help at this point. just gohta keep him breathing till he makes a recovery

:rip RIP my aro.

Well as of 12:04 Am Hawaii time my aro has passed. He fought as hard as he could but sadly it was not enough. I also tried my hardest but was not successful. He was a great fish. He was always happy to see me everyday. he made me feel happy whenever i would see him and he would swim up to me.

I guess i will pick up another aro when i get over the loss of this one. :( Ive never felt so attached to any other fish than this one. like losing a close buddy of mine.

sorry to hear that bro. i guess u did all u could. hope ur next one does a lot better.

so sorry to hear that bro... my condolences. its really hard to part with a pet u loved so much.
o well u did what u had to do.. but next time be sure to cover all spot on top of the tank...
ud be suprised that they can fit themself even in the smallest holes.

So sorry, I lost my "special" Aro when he jumped out in the middle of the night, I got there too late but I know how bad it hurts when you are really connected with one. I hope you feel like getting back in the saddle and getting another one, I couldn't stand walking by my empty tank. Best regards, good luck. Remember the Aro lore, if an Aro dies it is said he takes a death intended for the owner, so maybe he didn't die in vain.

To this day I don't know how he got out, there were no gaps and I had 6 huge bricks on the cover, they were all in place after he jumped out. weird.
