MY silver arowana is very ill. ITs tail is floating at the surface and the arowana is sitting at the bottom. It is breathing a little heavy. It is comming to me sometimes when I approach the aquarium just like it did when it wanted food but now its not accepting foods. I hasnt eaten in 2 weeks and its not accepting any food. How can I get it to eat. I dont want my aro to die. Water supply was disconnected in my area and we added well water to the aquarium. But now the water in the aquarium is pure water with no minerals or anything. I have added 5 table spoon of salt and fifteen drops of a medicine. Something green like a bag came out of its stomach which I dont know what it is. I dont know what to do. I used to give him chicken hearts, he ate 3 once a day.

Please Please Please help.

How big is he and how big is the tank? If his tail is out and he is at the bottom...Either he is huge, or your tank is small...Sounds like water quality to me...Do you test your tank?

He is 19inches long and the tank is 30 inches long. I have given custom order for a 6feet long tank but the dammn thing will be delivered in 6 weeks. My water's hardness was alot since water is from under the ground and its salty. I did checked for ammonia it was 0.2ppm and nitrires was 0.5ppm and nitrates was 21ppm. I changed it to mineral water. Now water parametres are good. Onthing more a rubber band was also ejected from its stomach. I dont know how he ate it.

Does a arowana had green stomach? or does its egg sack is green? What is that green thing that came out of its anus.

I was doing so good with it. He was healthy and always running for food. When I got him he had one eye droping which I cured so I thought nothing could go wrong but now everything is doomed.

Not sure ,but your tank is WAY WAY WAY too small for an aro...sorry...and it is cycling....He might not make it...Can you take him to a friend wit ha much bigger tank or an lfs? Those are your best options at this point...Probably not what you wanted to hear, but sadly, its the truth....

I have a empty concrete pond 5feet wide by 6 feet long by 3 feet high. Can I put him in it? Can I use hard salty well water in the pond?
