Hi

Last night I notice thousand of small white organisms crawling over my aquarium glass, mostly near the surface of the tank. They have a small wite body with what appears to be a a forked tail or feelers. They are only about 2-3 mm long.

Also in the water floating there appears to be many 5-10mm long white worm like creatures.

I have never seen these before in the tank. The tank contains a 8-10" fly river turtle. The only thing that has changed in the tank before they appeared has been a 20% water change and a 4-6" snake neck turtle was in the tank for a 12 hour period.

The Fly River Turtle is obviously an expensive animal so I am worried that these organisms could be harming it or could be a sign of some problem.

Can anyone help please??

Thanks for the help.

The things on the glass dont look like flatworm though. They are hard to describe and unfortunately I cant get a good pic of them. They are almost jellyfish like in shape.

I'm with Spizz, just sounds like Planaria, an organism that can have numerous shapes ranging from worms to flat jellyfish shapes like you described, and is usually a result of inadequate water change scheduals leading to excess nutrients.

As Spizz said, up your water change schedule and gravel vacuum heavily. Oh, they're harmless too ;)
