As some of you may know, I swapped and RTC for a collection of African cichlids. The guy mentioned that they included a pair of convicts, after 2 weeks I realised that Tgey were actually veija argentenas. They got along so I decided to keep them, but yesterday the larger male got destroyed (beaten badly) he is still breathing, swimming ok but finding it hard to stay balanced, he is now separated and I added salt, increased temp and cleaned the tank. I have kept him in a small breeding box with an object in to keep him upright. What else should I do? Will he survive? PLEASE HELP :(

Maybe you could try posting in the discussion section next time. This section is the media lounge and is only for pictures and videos.

Also you don't need to get upset with everyone else when you're the one who decided to keep incompatible species together, and you can't expect an immediate response to your question all the time, you posted during the middle of the work day here in the states so many members weren't able to see your post.

Well I am in the uk and there are no decent forums for fish. Also, it was not my fault if they were given to me and they had been living together for 3 months!

Sorry for your loss mate and sorry we couldnt help, however as you describe it fish was already pretty badly beaten up so there was nothing we can do, you started the thead at 2:26 and your fish was alreday dead by 5:59 we're not God you know???

Three months is nothing. I started with six argentea and it took 6 months before they killed each other. Went from 6 to 2 in less than a month.
