Urgent Help Needed!!!

if a pleco starts sucking on a poly... how long will it take to actually go beyond the point of no return?

I just got some Endlis and they are much calmer than other polys i have that havent had a problem with my golden nugget... but these endlis will prollu not move if the pleco tries anything... im gonna remove it but i was havin trouble catchin it tonite so i was thinkin ill just removed obstacles tomorw...
but if it can go pretty quickly ill just not go to bed till ive got it out...
