I'm a couple of hours away from putting these Pebbles into my tank. Just making sure its safe to use. Anyone know anything about Vigora brand Mexican Beach Pebbles from Home Depot? They are gray ones thats about 3-5" long. The are pretty large pebbles/stones.

They've seen soaking in hot water with aquarium salts for the last couple of hours. I will rinse them again before they go into the tank. Thanks in advance.

Im not to sure as to what you have acquired but I would definitely rinse it until the waters clear then tumble it and rinse again

put vineger on one if it bubbles throw them out

I use those, but pea sized, like normal gravel. Great cheap alternative to regular gravel, IMHO. Just be sure you wash it several times. Once you think you're clean, wash it about 5 more times. It'll be worth it.

Used them for over 25 years when I lived in Cali. They will look great. I would give them a quick rise and put them right into the tank. I would use them in my new 15,000 gallon but the cost would be just a little high.

Lets see some pictures. And how much were they? And how much do you get for that price? I have been looking for large black gravel/rocks. And my LFS carries beach pebbles, but the want a dollar a pound for them. And that would be about a dollar a stone.

Cool..good to hear. It was super easy to clean. Rinsed it about 5 times and the water was clear. I agree, it looks great!

Dont have a digi on me right now, but you wont be disappointed. THe package didnt show a net weight, but its about 40 lbs for $11.99.. I would have paid about $50 for the same type of pebbles at a lfs.

yep same here, just wash'em off really good.

I'm not sure about the larger stones, but for the pea sized gravel, I paid maybe 4 bucks for probably 30 lbs or more, the bag wasn't marked.
