Hello, this is my first post here on MFK, usually I hang out at MFK Sweden but got told to post here since the matter seemed both urgent and rare according to the replies I got there.
My two small P. Endlicheri, around 10cm, looks very bad since a couple of hours, the tank is a growout tank, 160 liters. There is 4 D. Microlepis, one Tigershovelnose catfish and the polypterus in the tank, all specimens pretty small in size.
The water values are measured with Aquavital-sticks;
GH: ~7
KH: couldn't match the color
Nitrit: 0
Nitrat: ~50
PH: 7
The tank is under treatment for white ich which the dats got a couple of days after arrival from their long journey. The temprature is raised to 30 degrees celsius during the treatment and the medicine used is Protozin.
The nitrite levels are a little high, first time I have problems with bad water values and will do a larger waterchange first thing tomorrow, in the middle of the night here right now. The tank has been running for 3 months with substratefiltration.
Looks like popeye but they are very swollen over the stomach and red **** on their fins too.
I'm sorry if I missed to include something but I'm very worried about my little babies atm!
Here's two pictures;
