What do you guys think about "Simpilicity Plus Internal Filtration"?

Simplicity Plus Internal Filtration - Simplicity Plus filtration is available on most standard Tenecor aquariums. Simplicity Plus aquariums are a Tenecor original design in which the filter is built into the tank. This system allows for easy set-up and low maintenance with no external plumbing, clutter, or leaks. Simplicity Plus aquariums are ideal for fresh or saltwater use and are designed to accommodate the maximum amount of bio-media for dependability. Quiet and reliable, Simplicity Plus aquariums have added a new dimension to the hobby and set a new standard in value. Simplicity Plus aquariums come complete with bio-media, powerhead(s), pre-filter sponge, and centipede returns installed at the factory.

This is going to come on the new 150 gal I am getting.

Do you guys think this filtration is good?

Please let me know pros and cons..

The only experience with internal filtration i had was with my Jewel 14g tank.

I really didn't like it, I found that my water constantly looked dirty and murky no matter how many w/c i did. Also I don't know if it was related but I had a major algae boom in my tank.

I attached an external filter that is probably 2-3x the required and within a few days my water really cleared and so did my problems.

I USE THE QUICK FILTER ON MY A.C. POWER HEADS TO POLISH AFTER A WATER CHANGE THEY WORK GREAT. I TAKE IT OFF AS SOON AS THE FLOW GETS LOW. I WOULDNT RECOMEND ANY INTERNAL AS THE LONE FILTER, HOW EVER THE WHISPER INTANK ONES WOULD WORK ON ASMALLER TANK BECAUSE IT NOT SUBMERGED

Not sure If I understand...

Why would you want to sacrifice internal tank dimensions for the simplicity plus design? Your 150 could turn into a 110 depending on how big the filter is. I spoke to Tenecor about this when I ordered my tank and they said you do give up space for this filter. For me, it wasn't worth it and I went with their marine ready set up.

I don't think the turn over ratio is high enough for a reef system. I believe you need to turn to water over 5-7 times per hour for a reef. Not sure what you would need to do to achieve this as I'm a freshwater keeper, not salt. The guys at Tenecor should be able to point you into the right direction.
