I was netting my catfish out, but his pectoral fin got caught in the net and now it's jam. It won't come out

What should I do????? I tried cutting the net, but there still pieces stuck onto the fin...

Any advice????

The fins are razor sharp with little hooks, it bleeds me when I tried to push it out >.<;;

what catfish? both my syndo occelifer and raphal cats got their fins caught in a net when i was transferring them to the other tank, the occelifer's fin was broken but it healed on its own eventually.

It's a sturio catfish

He's pretty stress, I can't free him from the net and there a piece of the net stuck on him too

:irked::irked::irked:

It even growl at me for taking him out of the water for too long >.<

i did that to my synodontis many years ago when it got trapped in a net. had same problems with clown loaches too. and i had to snip the fins with a pair of scissors. it hurt the fish, but had to be done. after a week the fins grew back and i never tried netting catfish with a mesh net ever again.

DONT SNIP THE FINS, CUT AWAY THE NET AROUND THE FINS AND LEAVE IT BE FOR AWHILE THE EXCESS NET WILL COME OFF EVENTUALLY!

He got a little torn fin at his right side (didn't snip it), but I did managed to free him

;)

He's very stress and swimming vertically >.<;;
