Flu Medicine

My friend worried unable to sleep for exam took flu medicine to help herself to sleep. I am totally against such behaviour, I felt it was just extreme. My question is, is it bad to take flu medicine when you aren't sick?

^^ thats what i do too. iono about flu medicine.

not a good idea .. and not good to get into this habit.. but i doubt if it will hurt her.. tell her to get more exercise so she can sleep at night.. thats what my dad use to tell me..lol ..as he handed me the mop...

What was it?

For example Benadryl is Diphenhydramine hydrochloride which is exactly what some sleep aids are made out of. They are the exact same pill, just packaged differently. However they can help with a cold or put you to sleep...

And no, it won't hurt her. Not now or in the future. Some people take Benadryl nightly to help them sleep because you can buy it in bulk cheaper than "sleep aid" pills even though they are the same thing.

I'd say a large portion of people who swallow pills daily aren't actually *sick* anyway, they just enjoy whatever the pills do for them.

Well, the flu medicine probably has painkillers in it that can put stress on the liver if used for an extended time. I'd say it's bad for you if it becomes a habit.

I went through a period of time when I was having sleepless nights. I took Valarian Root (comes in pill form from the drug store). It helped me.
