I have a Jaguar Stingray, 24inch disc in a 7x4x2.

I recently added two females of the same size into the tank with him.

For the first week or so he was eating and moving around fine and so were the females. However over the last three days he has stopped eating and is hardly moving around the tank at all just seems to shift with the current. I have watched him this evening and he moved up the side of the tank briefly and does not appear to have any injuries.

He usually eats like a pig and is the first to greet you when you enter the room. His breathing is not too bad but have added extra airation to the tank and turned the lights off.

I have checked the water perametres and they are fine.

Does anyone know what might be wrong. Could he be stressed about the females being introduced into the tank and would this stop him from eating? They are fed prawns, white fish, mussels, crabstick and pellets so he has a wide range of food but he is simply not interested.

Today we bought him some live river shrimp and he eat two but that was it.

Any advice would be appreciated as soon as possible as I am worried that if he does not eat soon he will die.

All the paramaters were monitored and water changes were done to maintain the quality. I was worried that the new girls would be the ones stressed but its the opposite.

If the females came from a trusted source or were quarantined I guess the fact he's eating is the one I'd focus on right now. There's nothing you can treat for, just keep giving him whatever he's happy to eat and hopefully he perks up in time.

I've experienced this before with other fish. Sounds like he's still eating, and I wouldn't worry about a couple days. Make sure the water ia really good and just give him time

argulus? something must have been introduced. look him over very carefully.
