US Vendor Getting Trops In ~

ha! yeah, that price is a little ridiculous IMO...but the value of a fish in this hobby is generally whatever people will pay for it. if people want them badly enough they will pay that much. i would advise, however, that it's not worth buying "the next size up" for so much more $$...the gars will grow to that next size up in a matter of weeks or 1-2 months.--

I'm not going to buy any. They are too small for me -- no room or patience for growing out fish at the moment.
Also, my 7 were all 12" - 24" when I bought them and much less expensive than these 6" ones.
However, if I didn't have any tropicus and was a gar collector then I think the price is okay. People might not see them again for a few years, who knows.
edit; just clarifying I don't think TUIC's prices are at rip-off levels, and definitely not telling anyone to not buy these fish, especially if you've never owned one.

I wouldn't doubt that theory at all especially when one considers what the minimum order is from the farm and then compares that to sizes that are available.
