USA Fish / Tank Prices ?

I've just been wondering why the fish & tanks in the US seem so expensive.
The currency in the USA is MUCH stronger than my local currency, but the
prices are quite a bit lower over here in some cases. Filters appear to
be a bit more costly on my side (quite a bit in some cases).

Maybe I have it wrong, let me know.

My 1st Tank = 260g (980l)
Price = R2200 / $324

My 2nd Tank = 260g (980l) + 92g (350l) sump
Price = R3195 / $470.5

My Fluval FX5 (Excluding Filter Media)
Price = R3700 / $545

Myabe you all are getting the glass and labor cheaper than we in the U.S. are but some of your prices are insane.

holy crap almost 600.00 bucks for an fx5 i guess we make up on tank prices cuz the filter prices are so much lower
