Use sea sand in a tropical aquarium

i was wondering if there was some way for me to get rid of the salt in sea sand so that i can use it in my tropical aquarium for my oscars and TT eels?
Any ideas?

wash it lots, easy. all the salt will dissolve out

I have thought about this before, i dont know what it is like where you stay but bear in mind there may be pollutants in the water such as sewage and other dangerous substances. Maybe if the sand is washed well as liam recommends and maybe soak it in boiling water as an extra safeguard.
