if i put used filter media from my LFS in my filter i am i ready to put fish in?

Well on your way. It is called seeding. but the fish must be put in soon after or the bb will die....

well i only got the media to speed up my cycle because my ammonia had fallen to 0 but my nitrites were still high yet nitrates were present.
todays readings before the filter media i put in:
ammonia 0
nitrite 5.0
nitrate 10
ph 7.8

Those are normal reading for a second stage cycling tank but the established media will help. It should be safe for your fish. The tank will still need some time to stabolize so keep a close eye on it and test frequantly for the next month or so just to be sure...

yes now i dont hav to worry about someone buying my rams before i do
tomorrow ill do a water test and post readings here and do a 25 % water change before i get them
