Got a shot at a used tenecor acrylic tank. Was used as saltwater and has been down about a year. Anything I need to especially look for in a used acrylic other than scratches? It's about six years old, 96x36x30. Comes with stand, skimmer, some MH lighting, misc. Feedback would be appreciated.

Nice pick up. Ideal size for monster fishes.

well, cracks would be your big concern. It holds water, right? Give all the seams a quick look over. Other than that, that's an awesome tank to pick up!!!

You have to show us pics!
And feel free to let us know how much you landed it for if you get it.
And if you dont get it feel free to pass the deal down to us. :D

I got a used 110 quarter cylinder Tenecor from my company. Did you believe they were going to just throw that away?!

Anyway, they left the Sunpak light on a timer cause it was a planted tank and the removable cover warped but everything else was fine. If they didn't have good ventilation and used MH lighting you might see some warping.

But definitely have him fill it up to just make sure.

My friend also bought a used Tenecor, not sure hte age or what the previous owner kept in it but the canopy I can see was like warping from the water contact. Cheap particle boards.

It was used as a coral tank and is marine ready with custom cabinet. I'm hoping to see it tonight.

;) Great size!! (lucky devil :)) Wish I had the space. Scratches are fine (buffed out w/ http://www.novuspolish.com/) Check for chips or dings that might compromise tank integrity. Follow up w/ water test to chk. for leaks. (over 400g is a lot of water!). Make sure stand is in good shape (not warped). Accessories are extra so if they come w/ the set-up, that's a plus. You didn't state a price so I'm unsure of how much a 'bargain' the deal is but I can tell you Tenecore makes quality tanks & I'm super satisfied w/ my 'little' 125g. Good luck, "T"

sratches are a easy fix... as long as it holds water its good to go.... perfect tank size too....
