Ok if u took a 6 foot long 150 gal tank thats busted on one side. cinstead of replaceing the tall broken side. could i get a peice of glass cut same size as the bottom. and slap it on top. and make it a 150 gal wide tank?

anyone no any sites that sell top and bottom trim. or how would u recomend makeing new braces?> Would fern strips work? Use like 1 inch long wood screws. and use a peice for botom and peice for sides along all the edges? or what would u recemend for wood

Personally I think your asking for trouble. The tank was not designed to hold water sideways, you probably need to tear apart and redesign the build.

Good luck with your project.

Well if its the same type of glass all around it should be fine, but if the bottom is tempered and needs to be tempered to hold the water at no risk then you have a point.

As for bracing why not just euro brace it?

tanks same thickness all the way around. i already no i have to remove all the silocone. especialy since one side of the tank is busted. It will be cheaper to get glass cut 18 inch tall by 6 foot long them it would be for i think its 32 inch tall.

euro brace? what ya mean ? could u show me a pic

Here's what it looks like its about the first 4" all around and then center braces of glass as needed. Some one else or a lil research can probably tell you what thickness glass u'll need to use. I'm just putting the idea on the table =P
