uuurrrggg! man this irritates me. i have set up a 75g tank salt water. it be an upgrate for my 30g. i want to put everything from my 30g to the 75. However the water stays cloudy in the 75. i have tested the water and every thing seems to be in check however the water will not clear up. The tank been running for a bit, actually one day shy from being up 4 weeks. It has been cloudy since day 1. i have at the moment 2- 400 emperor hob, skimmer rated for 100g (sorry cant remeber the name of it) 60lb of live rock, 50lb of live sand. When i first got the tank running with water i though the cloudyness would clear up but it has not. This is the first time i every used emperor for filtration. Im not impressed with them. my cheap aqua-tech from wall-mart works alot beter then the emperor. I have used aqua-tech for many, many moons and always have had crystal clear water. Anywh0 im at a lost to what to do. i have never had a tank stay so cloudy for so long. Im almost to the point of selling the salt setup and going back to fw.

like i have said all my water test checked fine. anyone has any suggesut or clue what might be going on. i would be gratefull. Thanks for taking the time to read this as i just had to get some of this off my chest- so to speak...lol

Well for starters if you believe it is the emperor 400s that are causing the problem then lets take a look at them.....First are they clean and are the impellers moving the water like they should be??....Next are the Bio Wheels spinning??....Then what are you using in the extra media containers within the filters??

I have emp. 400's on all my tanks that dont require canister filters, and I have never had cloudy water. I just have porus ceramic cylinders in all the grey cartridges.

not sure whats causeing the prob. they are clean, brand new. only a month old, the propellers are move the water good, and yes the biowheels are spinning, i use 4 of the carbon cartrige in each (total of 8 filter pads)
