I've read online where some people say you cannot use an aquarium heater in a stocktank . Has anyone else read this ? Im planning on using 2 1000 watt heaters in a stocktank

You can use one, just don't let it sit on the plastic. Lots of people do it. How big is this tank? Even a 600 gallon should only need 1 , 1000 watt heater at the very most. Also, if you cover it with styrofoam it cuts the amount of heaters you need in half, it really makes a huge difference.

I'm building an 1800 gallon tank . When you say don't let the heater sit on the plastic , Im not sure where else to place it since it will be sitting in the bottom of the stocktank. The heater does have rubber on both ends

What I've seen done (never have myself) is put a bar across the tank and hang the heater in the middle. But I definitely wouldn't put it up against the side.

I've seen little heater cages as well that simply keep it off the side

If there is going to be substrate on the bottom then it should be fine to put on the bottom. Otherwise, I would hang it off the side as recomended above

Couldn't you just put a couple landscaping bricks in the bottom and lay it in them?

Everyones advice sounds pretty good to me heaters touching the plastic ponds is def. bad news, I had this happen about 5 years ago and it turned my water to what looked like milk overnight. I had to waterchange every day for weeks to get the toxins outta my stock tank. I really like the pole across the pond with the heater dangling in the middle. I ran multiple 300gal rubbermaids for years and never thought of that lol. I would not trust the heater on substrate alone as fish can move it around. Heater cage or the dangling method are more than necessary. I picked up some rubber coated bird feeders from home depot that were perfect heater cages, ive also used pvc with holes drilled in it for the same purpose. I wonder y pvc is ok under heat and these stock tanks are not. My guess is the pvc is alot harder and does not melt as quickly.
