I have a gallon jug of ammonia, can I use this to clean calcium deposits off a filter(to replace vinegar)? I know it'll probably choke me, but I'm too lazy to go buy vinegar.

Ammonia is a base, which will not dissolve lime deposits. If you don't have vinegar at home, how about some lemon juice?

Wow. Lucky for us you weren't too lazy to type out this worthless thread. Now, go buy the vinegar since it's the right stuff to use.
