So I think I found a sweet deal on an oceanic 65g. Only downfall is its drilled. I want to run a canister to keep it simple. Is there something I can plug the holes up with and just cover up with gravel?

are the holes threaded? If not you can install a bulkhead and just put a PVC cap or plug on it.

And what is so wrong with a drilled tank? Take advantage of the convenience and hook up the can to the bulkheads.

sounds like it's drilled in the bottom. That seems like it would be more hassle than it's worth to use a canister.

I don't have experience with canisters, but I still don't see the problem. Adding a stand pipe to the bulkhead to reach the surface of the tank will make it the equivalent of having the back drilled.

What am I missing?

Actually, that's a great idea, hell....you have to do something with the holes anyway.

Good call man

Wes you know me all too well. But not too into monsters this time around. I've got alot of empty space in my room and a new tank is the way to go. If I get the 65g, I'm going to get like 12 clown loaches and some live bearers just to keep it active. I want small community fish to fill up the tank while the clowns are the focal point.
