got a quick question for everyone. i was brainstorming while at work about how to make the windows on my new iguana enclosure as cheaply as i can. and i had an idea.

do you guys think it would possible to pull as 75 gallong tank apart and use the front and back glass as windows in my enclosure? i am thinking it wont be an issue because they are siliconed together but i have never taken an aquarium apart before.

i am thinking of this because a) the glass will be free, b) thinker than what i was planning on buying anyway.

It would absolutely work. I'm not sure how strong it would be if your iguana decides to tail whip it, but it should work pretty well.

The thing to be careful of is removing the trim on the tank. I did it to a 29 gallon, and I gouged out a few big chunks of glass at the rim with a screwdriver and made it look like crap. Oh and be careful, the edges of the glass are usually not sanded/smoothed out, so they will be VERY sharp. My arm is still healing from when I put my arm over the side of the tank that I took the trim off of.

it should be plenty strong. i was just not sure if the panes were able to be removed. but now that i know this i will be doing that. just have to find a cage to put my other iguana in while i rip her cage apart haha
