has anyone ever used a HOB filter to feed there sump. I was thinking of drilling a hole in the bottom and putting in a bulkhead to feed my sump project. Would this work? has anyone done this before? any feed back would be helpful.

Ive read a couple posts on here about people either trying this or asking about it...I dont see why it wouldnt work, but im sure theres reasons it wont lol

It would drain your tank into your sump, causing a flood. You can either drill your tank, buy a hang-on overflow box, or do a DIY PVC overflow, but a HOB filter won't work. I have seen where people have fashioned an overflow box out of an old HOB, but it isn't running.

Thanks for the input. My concern was that it would just keep siphoning if the power went out. Just an idea I think I will go with the PVC overflow
