I have 4 parachanna obscura, they are about 10-12 cm.

I want them to grow, but its to difficult to clean after them, since the chuncks i provide for them are to big for them to take in one swoop.

So i was thinking of removing all my interior (boogwood, rocks, plants)
or just to keep it as simple as possible for a period where i can feed them daily (except on sundays) so they can grow to adult size.

and when they reach their adult size i can start decoreting it again.

Is this ok, or will it be bad for the fish?

This is the reason why people like bare tanks, when you have monsters the ammount of waste they produce is crazy. You need to have a quick way to clean up the tank.

Before you remove anything what I suggest you try is putting two powerheads on one side of the tank and see if they can manage to blow all the waste to the opposite corner after feeding, if that is possible you can simply get all the waste out with a gravel vac quickly from that one corner.

i would frist try cutting your chunks in to a smaller size so they can intake they in one bite, It woild be fine to remove the things u want to, many people run bare tanks... i do infact feel the fish them self are always happier with a tank that has hiding places ( a home to call their own ) SNake heads are one of the greatest fish
in the felid... i mean who can't fall in love with a RED Snakehead...
good luck :naughty:

Id consider Cutting your chunks Smaller or cut strips. Thats What I do with the Tilapia Fillet I feed some of my fish.

I'm doing the same thing with my current red. When i had my maruliodes i had loads of hiding places for him and plants to hide behind of and what not. He just ALWAYS hid. Never came out. So i took everything out and had some small decorations in the tank. Check my gallery. After that he was more interactive with me.

Another thing having a bare tank gives you optimal space.

I'll guess i'll do that then, thanks for the respons, oh and i cant make the chuncks smaller, even if i did, they'll just pick on them.

But i hate the fact that i spent almost 200-300 dollars on interior decorations to get it the way i wanted it with the bogwoods, i'll guess they'll have to wait.
