I used to have a baby american alligator and i sold the little guy about two months ago, he had plenty of nice pieces of driftwood in his enclosure. The wood has now dried out, is it safe to use with fish? Im sure my plecos would love to munch on some driftwood..?

I'm not sure. I recently bought a used piece of driftwood for the same reason and now my large clown loaches seem to have a parasite. Could be coincidental but I rarely have issues with my fish. I'm afraid I'm going to lose my community of 6 to 12 year old clown loaches.

Hank - I assume you removed the driftwood and treated the loaches ?

I would sterilize it (quite a few ways to do that) which would obviously take care of any issues.

Just bake/boil the pieces if you're worried about any problems associated with the wood.

It's skinny disease or something and I can't get any good meds in my small town. Have to wait for the weekend.
