I recently got a whole lot of one sort of plant out of a pond I was working in last week. Im not sure what it is, but my boss said it was a fully aquatic plant (I'll post pics later on, maybe someone can ID it). It was in a small pond with no (living) fish. All of the inhabitants had died over the winter. I took it home, washed it a few times then let it sit in a pail of water for a few days. I took each strand out and washed it thoroughly a few days later and then put it in my new 90 gal. Will the rinsings have been enough to get rid of any potential disease the plants might have carried on them? The tank is currently unihabited.

I sincerely hope so...one of my biggest mistakes in fishkeeping has been the direct entry from pond to tank....( without desinfecting..., that is )
