Thinking about buying a media bag to place on bottom of tank..... will it desintegrate in water after awhile?

:irked: Why do you want to put in the tank? They're made to stick in filter and cansiter.

:werd: Do you just want to let it sit on the bottom of the tank? What will be the purpose of it? Maybe I am missing something, anyone shed some insight on what the point of this is?

just extra surface area for bacteria to cling onto. i use barebottom. i'm going to use nylon instead

if anyone thinks its a dumb idea let me know

Go out and spend $5 and get a sponge filter or two, stack them up for more surface area.

We have a bare bottom tank, and with our wet/dry filter, we have great biological filtration. With a good wet/dry system, you wouldn't need to worry about "housing" more bacteria in the tank.

I do. :D Water takes the easiest path. It will just flow around it, not through it. The bacteria would need more flow through to be anything close to useful.
