I have a couple of coralife T5 lamps and I am not thrilled with the brightness of the bulbs. I have heard good things about the Hagen t5 HO lamps and checked one out at my lfs, but it said that it needed a HO ballast to operate. I don't want to spend $20 to test the bulb, and I don't want to spend $200 to buy a new lamp, so I was wondering if anyone else has tried using the t5 HO bulb in a regular lamp.

HO bulbs use a higher voltage than normal bulbs. You cannot use HO bulbs in a regular system (lights will not come on)
