Hey everyone, I have 2 extra 40 breeder metal stands. The are the brooklyn model stands from petco. My question is, since they are exactly half the length of a 6' 125 gal tank, would it be okay to place them side by side and run 2x6's across or a thick piece of plywood and place the tank on top of them as opposed to trying to find a 6' metal stand somplace somewhat local (not easy)?

I would think so if they can handle the weight. You may want to use something to hold them together so they don't slowly separate

Yea they should be good and with that kind of downward force I don't think you need to worry about them separating.

Bolt them together. I would put plywood on top as well and countersink screws down into the metal stand. It will be fine.
