Hey everyone I recently found a old Zippo while cleaning out my grandmothers house and I was wondering if anyone knows what it's worth? I've been looking around but I can't find any site that doesn't want me to pay to get it appraised... My uncle was in the Navy but I'm not sure if it was his or not. It says "USS Nicholas FFG 47" and the bottom of the Zippo says "1932 Zippo 1988 and under it has the location Bradford, PA"
If anyone can link me to a website or give me someone to contact that would be great.

Thanks,

The Nicholas is still on active duty. That means lighters can still be bought from the ship's store and through the Navy Exchange catalog. So, the lighter would have minimal value right now. The last one on ebay sold for $9.99.

Thanks OddBall!
You would think that it had some value though, it was stuffed in an attic for some time so I'm pretty sure it wasn't bought recently but oh well still got something cool!

It's made to look like an older zippo. The code '1932 zippo 1988' means it's a zippo manufactured in 1988 to look like a 1932 zippo design.

The Nicholas FFG-47 was commissioned in 1984.

Yeah, was about to say unless its an original zippo from 1932, probably not worth anything too crazy...
