Can you use under the tank heaters on a rubbermaid? If not how do you heat them up?

Will it cause any meltage or warping??

It might cause some warping
The plastic usually kinda bulges out right over the mat
Just keep checking your temperatures, so it won't melt

i just got one, on the package its says to put them on the side of the tank to prevent warping.but that was for critter keepers

I have one on my ball python's rubbermaid. I would definatly get a rheostat or at least a lamp dimmer to keep the temperature down. It won't melt unless the heat mat breaks and goes up to like 110 degrees.
