HHHHHHHHHHHuuuuummmmmmmm........ No:D That is hardly a good ligth for your ig. Try to find one of thouse that I already told you or if you cant find one of thouse try to find another kind of uv ligth made especificaly for herps. The lamp label must clearly state that is uv lamp with UVB for calcium absorcion in reptiles. There are many brands. I use zoomed and exoterra. I assume that you know that besides a uv ligth you also need a basking ligth for your ig to allow her to regulate its body temps in order to be active and properly digest food:confused: For that a good old and normal 40 wat ligth buld will do the trick(I would normaly recomend a 60 w but since you live in the Filipines there must be a good deal of heat and so a 40w should do it). Make sure any ligth you put in with your ig is far enogff to prevent her from burning herself and that everything is completly secure, idealy a metalic mesh should be used to prevent the ig from coming into contact with the lamp:D

For a tiny gecko in a 10-gallon tank, it's useful. For an iguana in a larger enclosure, it pretty much is crap. Like trying to heat your house with a 60 watt bulb; useless.

Well my main purpose of buying a UV bulb is not for heating coz heat is not a problem in my place, what i am after are the UV rays that it produce,it is rated 25 watts ..as of now he is in a 20 gallon tank

thanks:)

Dude take that thing out of there:eek: You have no idea of tipe of radiation that thing emits. Not only is very remotley that it actualy emits some uv rays usefull, but very likely it emits rays that are dangerous for your iguana. YOU ARE RISKING YOUR IGUANA HEALTH:screwy:. I will say it again. If you cant get for now a uv ligth try to find a way that you can give your iguana supervized sun baths. And you do need a basking ligth, can be a normal incandescent bulb, so that your iguana has the ligth and heat he needs to be active ,digest its food and eat. Iguanas are visualy oriented animals they cant be expected to live and trive in a dark room. You must allow the animal to termorregulate it self ofering a combination of warm and cool places. By the way you must have at least 2 termometers (one in the heated side, another in the cool side) so that you can control the temps. Igs need temps of 35-32C degrees celcius in the hot side and 26C in the cool side.

black lights are of no benift to any reptile.
your iguana require UVB rays, black lights do not produce any UVB light strong enough to have an effect on an iguana, or any reptile with high uv requirements.
they can also be harmful in the long term.
people often use them for viewing scorpions becuase they turn them a florenced green colour. but studdies have shown they are harmful to scorps.
thus one can assume they are harmful to iguanas.
go out and buy a decent quality specialist reptile uv bulb with an output on uvb as high as possible. exo terra, zoomed and t rex all make fine bulbs, powersun but zoomed are good. i use them with my iguana.
save for black light for the disco.
