UV Clarifiers

Is there anyone with opinions or experience with UV Clarifiers in general and the Tetra 5 volt UV Clarifier specifically?

I'd like some input as to their effectiveness.

Is this a freshwater tank?

I'd go with the Coralife over the Tetra. The 8 watt unit from Big Al's is practically FREE!
