Hi,
What is the best way to connect to the uv unit, it can't be solvent welded because it needs to come off for maintenance. We tried ptfe tape round the screw joint but it leaks. I know vecton do an adapter piece but we don't have it. They say you can use other methods but don't go into detail. It is to go inline with our sump piping.

And you don't have the hose barb connections that are in the picture (the stepdown connector on the input/output)?

If that's correct, you can take it to a plumbing supply and have them fit up the right size connectors for you (I don't think your going to find them at HH/Lowes) It's normally connected with tubing or hose, then you unscrew the large side connectors to remove & service the unit.

Sorry if it seems we are going at this backwards, I guess we should have started with a pic of what you physically have.

What size UV unit do you have? The large one is very inexpensive.
