Uv filter

hey everyone.
I found this old pond filter that my dad through away.i took it apart to see
if the uv still worked.
he disposed of it cause he thought the uv was broken.
fortunatly it is working perfectly

this is what i have.

is there a possible way of making a pvc or some sort of uv out of this.
oh its a 8watt ballast

Here is the filter.
if there is not an easy way of making an alternate fitler il try and hack the original.


the uv goes in the bottom horizontaly,then water goes in from the top through the uv tube and the half way up again where it spils out.

Don't turn on that UV uncovered. You can really hurt your eyes and skin.
