do you think this would work on my mod planted aqarium? I normally wouldn't look into uv, but every since i boosted the light i got brown algae on the glass. Now I know a UV wont fix algae on the glass or plant leaves, but if i have algae on the glass how long before I have the dreded green water?

Advice please, i even welcome comments like "WTF are thinking UV is a waste of your money" or even a "RTFS"

I got a UV sterilizer for my planted tank I had, but it was more to get rid of any ich I might get as the tank contained both plants and loaches which really cuts down on the variety of ich meds you can safely use. Also, I found a nice one for about 70% off retail (brand new condition).

Skip the UV. Just do water changes and keep your nitrates below 15 ppm, and the green algae won't be a problem.

uv takes some good out of your water ive had a turbo twist 9 watt in my 20 long heavy plants... i use eco complete substrate dose seachem ferts t5 ho lights... my plants do well everyone tells me to stop doseing with the uv but i have no way of personaly telling what good and bad is comming of the uv its peace of mind for now
