UV light like hood or UV sterilizer? the sterilizer will help in more ways than you can imagine. i used to only use it on one tank now i am running them on every tank i have. less algea, sickness, disease... invest in one its well worth it

IMO, it is really not worth if your tank isn't exposed to sunlight and your fish are healthy.
But if you feel like investing in one to keep your tank mint, go ahead. :)

I think it's an excellent add on to any tank... with the proper flow rate, it will kill any free floatin nastys in your tank and clarify your water. With UV, it's about flow rate, not size. You could run a 9 watt UV on a huge tank if you have it hooked up to a low flow pump.

I have had good results with my 36 watt UV light i recently added to my set up about a week ago. I use to have milky water and a lot of little swiming white worms and now the water is clearer and almost no little swimming worms. It was a good idea to add the Uv steriliser.

Hey guys thanks for your advises. About those white worms... I do have them! are they bad for my fishes?

Cheers!
if there what i think they are, there not very bad for fish, but of coarse u dont want them, they breed in filter most times, i had them years ago an when i would feed they would start to come out of filter jets swim around ea,t then they all where gone when food was, they eat the fish food. when i cleaned filter i found a ton of them.
