Hey guys, need some help. What type of UV should I get for my 480 gallon Ray tank. I have it filtering into a 360 gallon as well. I pretty much use the 360 gallon as a sump/hospital tank. Pumps out of the 360 and into the 480 then drains into the 360.

Total volume is 840 gallons.

Thanks

Depends on what your objective is for the UV. Not all UVs are the same, dosage varies. Also, flow rate must be established prior to selecting a UV. I'm beginning to see ray guys using UV to minimize pathogens and a good dosage for that would be 50mJ/cm^2. Most UVs are rated to clear water only. So if the box says good for 1000g tank it may not be enough for anything other than clear water.
