I was orginally running 1 36 watt turbo twist on this tank however I do not believe I am getting enough out of it for this body of water. Rather than going with a larger unit I and thinking of adding another 36 watt turbo twist running in Tandem about a foot higher than the other and upgrading the pump to about 900 gph for the both. Does anybody see any issues in doing it this way? Does doubling the UVs do the same as adding a larger one?

I would think it does but you might not have to up the GPH....slower is better for paracite killing...fast is mainly for green water.

Exactly go ahead and run two just keep the flow down and it will sterilize instead of just curing green water :)

so do u guys run the UV steriliziers off powerheads or canisters? I was going to run them off my FX5 but gph is too high so plannin to just hook it up to a submersible pump...also anyone know if placing he pump near the inlet by the wire of sterilizer is ok? I heard its recommeneded to have it flowing from the bottom of sterilizer (farther away from the opening of where u replace the UV Bulb)

I would use something that will send clean water through...so a canister or if you have a wetdry you could use a power head to loop it in the sump. You could also maybe T off the fx5 if you want. I would hook the pump where ever the manuf. tells you to.

How is your current one running pump wise....you could probably just add another UV to that line and keep everything else the same....

I have changed plans. I am going to t off the pump and run in parralel. Therefore the flow will be approximately 450gph for each.
