So ive been feeding my bichirs guppys for about 6 months now. Ive never had a problem with desease. I talked to my LFS owner and he said he quarintens all the guppys he sells and in their tank he has a internal fulvul filter with UV starilization.

Does this sound safe enough to keep feeding them his guppys? I havent noticed anyother fish store to have the UV filter in their feeder guppy tank.

Uv lights in filters kill bacteria and parasites that flow through them. It is a very good thing that he has the uv filter as the chance of the feeders becoming diseased and sick are very slim. I wish all pet stores would do that so we could feel better about buying feeders.

petco has them on their feeder tanks too... doesn't keep them from being disgusting

i would qt to be safe, prazi-pro, salt and high temps ftw

I don't know that it would have much effect on endoparasites. Ecto definately tho during the free swimming stages.
