I just acquired a 225g setup that included a really nice UV sterilizer as part of it's filtration system. Will this harm my prized plecos? What are your opinions? I have read where it will not mess with your existing biological filtration. And I have also read opinions that it does. What are your takes and will I be ok leaving it as part of the system? Thanks much!

All my big tanks have UVs on them with no issue's. in fact they are good thing IMO they help to keep the bad things at bay IE bad parasites and bad bacteria. Just if you have a huge bio load I wouldn't use them until your good bacteria is built up. But in general they are a big help on tanks I think
